Bronze sculptures - female figures in bronze by South African artist Jean Doyle | ||||
Xhosa Woman II In the more remote corners of the area where the Xhosa people traditionally live, are still to be found the colourful rural tribesman known as the "red Blankets" - so called because of their dress which is a corron or woolen blanket dyed a deep brick red colour with red ochre. They are the last of their kind and they depict an end of an era in Xhosa history.
