Bronze sculptures - female figures in bronze by South African artist Jean Doyle | ||||
Xhosa Woman I In the more remote corners of the area where the Xhosa people traditionally live, are still to be found the colourful rural tribesman known as the "red Blankets" - so called because of their dress which is a corron or woolen blanket dyed a deep brick red colour with red ochre. They are the last of their kind and they depict an end of an era in Xhosa history.
