Bronze sculptures - female figures in bronze by South African artist Jean Doyle | ||||
Turkana Woman The Turkana are a nomadic people who live in the least hospitable part of Kenya, around Lake Turkana. Turkana men say of a bride "It's the things a woman wears that make her beautiful". She is adorned with a coil of brass around her arms, and a multi-layered beaded necklace with three back pendants which indicate a girl's availability for marriage.
