Girl in Space II
Reminiscent of an angel descending from heaven, Girl in Space II celebrates the balance and strength found in many circus performers. In a display of incredible strength, she supports her body weight on a single arm, perfectly aligned and balanced around the ball. Beautiful from many angles, this sculpture is a technical feat with the weight above being perfectly distributed so that the centre of gravity remains low on the ball and the balance of the sculpture is centered on the performer's arm. Dramatic and elegant,Girl in Space II is a celebration not only of the circus, but the feats of the human body, the skill of the performer and the sculptor too.
